Welcome to mad music mondays, where I will be taking you on a journey through my creative process of releasing my first single. Enjoy.
If you’re like me, sometimes ideas can be overwhelming. As someone who loves to start projects, and loathes finishing them, new ideas can often be annoying. I even wrote a poem about it.
For the single, ‘you should know’, I’m almost a little bit ashamed (and also a bit proud), that part of the idea came from watching Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve always enjoyed trying to put into words that feeling of meeting someone who you think might actually be the coolest person on the planet. I also wrote a poem about it.
In Grey’s Anatomy, a commonly repeated phrase is ‘you’re my person’. Ad it made me think, isn’t that what we’re all looking for? Someone who we call MY person?
And that’s where it began. With a few scrawled words in a notebook, I started what was going to be an 18-month process from page to publish.

The song, ‘you should know’, is about that fleeting, uncomplicated moment of realising that you like someone. The brave among you will send it to your crush (whether or not they know).
